The APWA Colorado Chapter would like to salute and thank the thousands of public works professionals around the state who work tirelessly to provide, Maintain and improve structures that assure a higher quality of life for our communities!
Since 1960, APWA has sponsored National Public Works Week. Across North America our more than 30,000 members in the United States and Canada use this week to energize and educate the public on the importance of the contribution of public works to their daily lives; planning, building, managing and operating the heart of our local communities and building the quality of life.
“It Starts Here” is the theme for the 2019 National Public Works Week. This theme represents the many facets of modern civilization that grow out of the efforts put forth by the public works professionals acress North America. What starts here? Infrastructure starts with public works… Growth and innovation starts with public works… Mobility starts with public works… Security starts with public works… Healthy communities start with public works… The bottom line is that citizens’ quality of life starts with public works.
Does your agency celebrate Public Works Week? If you have a Public Works Week story or agency proclamation that you would like to share with the Chapter, please send it to Pamela Weimer at bdweimer@msn. com so that we can recognize it in future newsletters. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating!
